Why Richat?

“Mauritania is engaged in a global economic transition. This trend, which has already been noticeable for several years, will accelerate with the forthcoming increase in revenues from hydrocarbons.

This economic transition is global, transversal and social. It concerns all sectors of activity, modifies the relationships between the various economic players and accelerates a change in behaviour and expectations within the population.

All this is already reflected in the multiplication of projects at all levels of decision-making in the country. These projects, whether initiated by administrations, institutions or private companies, cannot be carried out without the contribution of investments, technologies and methods. Richat was created to respond to these different needs.

Richat’s ambition is twofold. It is to provide Mauritanian actors with support that enables them to meet the requirements of international professional standards. It is also to provide international investors with decisive support in prospecting the Mauritanian market. Richat was born from the observation that such an essential structure does not exist today.

Richat will provide support and intermediation in all matters relating to standards, methods, investments and performance management – in short, everything that promotes development.

As a monitoring and consulting company, Richat will provide or aggregate, in partnership with international institutions and firms, end-to-end support solutions for the conduct of projects. Richat is committed to the transformation of the country and will also act as an intermediary to promote projects and ensure their financing.

The name “Richat” refers to the Mauritanian Guelb Er Richat, “the eye of the Sahara”, which has become a landmark for space shuttle crews. To foreign investors, as well as to national entrepreneurs and leaders, we aim to be a key benchmark for future Mauritanian ventures.
